IE10 keeps opening in task manager

Hello World-

Programming jokes aside, I have internet explorer 10 installed on my pc running Windows 7. Ie10 keeps opening on my desktop (it goes to the Microsoft Support webpage). It keeps opening in my task manager until my CPU is at 100% and my computer gets very slow. I only run Microsoft Security Essentials, at least to my knowledge. I have tried disabling add-ons, running full security scans, starting in safe mode, etc.

I have read several other similar problems, but they seem to be particular to each individual's computer...figured I had better start my own topic.
