Earlier this week youtube videos stopped playing for me in firefox. It happened abruptly, I had just watched one youtube video and went on to start watching another, and the video just wouldn't play. I could still see the pause/play button and all the rest of the player interface, but no video would ever try to buffer or anything, the screen just stays black. I assumed it was just a temporary bug and that the issue would fix itself next time I restarted my computer. It didn't. I then tried to update flashplayer, then I uninstalled and reinstalled it, all to no avail. It's just youtube specifically that is effected too, other video players like netflix are fine. In the meantime I've also been watching youtube on Chrome, but for ages now whenever I try to watch them on Chrome in fullscreen it just moves the video to the upper left corner of my screen and leaves the rest black. I'm not too bothered by this if I can figure out why youtube doesn't work in firefox, but not really being able to watch stuff properly in either browser is quite annoying.
Thanks for any help! As a college student I find youtube to be ithe most effective way of wasting my time.
