Rogue file won't download

My friend keeps getting this message when he tries to download a game patch file and has asked my advice, what shall I tell him?-

"Cannot download,error found in file, file may be damaged. error code 01"

The file downloads fine onto mine and other peoples PC's, but refuses to download onto his.

Yet he can download other files ok, just not this one.
