HP media center pc m7360n fans run continously

this may have posted somewhere else but try as i might i couldn't find it. Two days ago both fans in my computer started running loudly and continuously. i thought it was bacause th room was hot from the wood stove, ii opened the caase and it was filthy. cleaned that out but its still doing the same thing. i was just going to reinstall my windows xp(yes im a dinosaur) but i dont know if that would fix the problem and like and idiot, ii've lost my restore/reformat disk for the computeralthough i still have the key.When i checked the interior of the computer, it was quite cool, so i dont believe its overheating. any help would be appreciated.
